You diet hard, now let’s play hard! Time to PARTY!

In today’s post, I want to cover 4, SUPER SIMPLE, alcoholic beverages you can enjoy while staying in your beloved state of ketosis.

Before I do that though, I want to cover an important detail.

Drinking alcohol while following a keto diet will affect your progress. Specifically, it will slow down your rate of ketosis.

Your liver can make ketones out of alcohol (which is what we want). The hold up is, our bodies are programmed to treat alcohol as a toxin. So when we consume alcohol, our system prioritizes getting it our of our body as fast as possible.

The long and short of this is, our liver will begin to process the alcohol as fast as possible, before all other nutrients, furthermore slowing the conversion of fatty acids to ketones.

SO, it won’t crush your keto kickass-ness, it will just TEMPORARILY slow your progress.

No worries! You’ll bounce right back once the alcohol has left the building 😉

Enough Talk! Bartender, Hit Me!

Number 1: The White Russian!

Kahlúa won’t work for a keto-friendly White Russian. But sugar-free coffee syrup will!

Here is my recommendation: Sugar-free coffee syrup, nut milk, heavy cream, and vodka.

Another option could be a butter- and chocolate chip infused vodka shaken with heavy cream and homemade coffee liqueur.

Number 2: Keto Colada!

Nice and simple.

Grab some coconut vodka, add heavy whipping cream, and top it all off with pineapple seltzer. BANG!

Number 3: Moscow Mule!

Let’s roll!

Kick things off with lime juice, add in a healthy dose of vodka ;), and finish with 4-5 ounces of DIET ginger beer.

Number 4: Pickle Juice Daiquiri!

This one screams keto.

Here you take a mix of brine, toss it with lime juice, and polish it off with your desired amount of rum.

Many enjoy this drink because they feel it prevents them from being hungover the next day (due to the electrolyte content).

And TA-DA! It’s Time To Party!
