In an interview with PopSugar, Alicia’s “Tomb Raider” trainer, Magnus Lygdback, was quoted saying “It was a high-fat, no-carb diet — not even low-carb…. It’s always tricky the first couple of days, but [Alicia’s] willpower is just unbelievable, and she didn’t complain, even though I could see she was struggling a little bit. She kept on bringing it every day.”

Best known for her role on “Honey Booboo.” The actress made headlines when she lost 300 pounds using a combination of gastric sleeve surgery and the keto diet.

Ladies and gentlemen, as many of us know all too well, one of the most difficult parts of staying in ketosis is during those long hours in between meals.


When I first started out on my keto journey, I would have all my meals planned out for the day. I would kick start the day with a keto awesomeness breakfast, then continue on with a keto champion lunch….then bang!

In today’s post, I want to cover 4, SUPER SIMPLE, alcoholic beverages you can enjoy while staying in your beloved state of ketosis.

Before I do that though, I want to cover an important detail.

Drinking alcohol while following a keto diet will affect your progress. Specifically, it will slow down your rate of ketosis.

Your liver can make ketones out of alcohol (which is what we want). The hold up is, our bodies are programmed to treat alcohol as a toxin. So when we consume alcohol, our system prioritizes getting it our of our body as fast as possible.

The long and short of this is, our liver will begin to process the alcohol as fast as possible, before all other nutrients, furthermore slowing the conversion of fatty acids to ketones.

SO, it won’t crush your keto kickass-ness, it will just TEMPORARILY slow your progress.

No worries! You’ll bounce right back once the alcohol has left the building 😉

Enough Talk! Bartender, Hit Me!

Number 1: The White Russian!

Kahlúa won’t work for a keto-friendly White Russian. But sugar-free coffee syrup will!

Here is my recommendation: Sugar-free coffee syrup, nut milk, heavy cream, and vodka.

Bulletproof Coffee is going to be the most popular recipe. I have tried this multiple times and can say without a hesitation of doubt that this is very delicious!

All you need is this:

Vanilla Keto Coffee

Here we add a little more sweetness to the mix.

  • 1 cup of hot coffee
  • 1 tbsp Vanilla Omega PowerCreamer (Game changer)
  • Few sprinkles of ground cinnamon
  • The ability to blend it all together

Heavy Keto Coffee

The name is a play on words. This coffee is a really nice treat with options!

  • 1 cup of hot coffee
  • 3-4 tbsp of heavy whipping cream
    • It’s all in the delivery!
    • Pour your desired amount of heavy whipping cream in a small sauce pan and heat gently while stirring until it’s frothy.
